5 reasons to party with RNation on August 11

After two weeks on the road, your REDBLACKS are coming home on Saturday, August 11 to battle the Alouettes at 8PM. Score your seats by clicking here, calling 613-232-6767 x1 or in person at the TD Place Box Office.

Here are the top 5 reasons you shouldn’t miss it:

1. Throwback to back to back champs

Come down to the Arena at TD Place before our August 11 game and meet the 1968 and 1969 Grey Cup Champion Rough Riders! The back-to-back champs will be here signing autographs and commemorating their outstanding accomplishments with all of RNation. A cover band will be performing hits from that era starting at 5:30 p.m. and food/drinks will be available for purchase as well. At halftime, the teams will also be presented with Grey Cup rings they never received after their 1969 championship.

2. Johnny Football in the house

Well, the long awaited CFL debut of Johnny Manziel didn’t live up the hype. The former Heisman Trophy winner not only threw four interceptions, but only completed 11/20 passes for 104 yards and rushed for a very un-Johnny like four yards before the Alouettes opted to go with Vernon Adams to finish the game.

Though his first start went about as bad as possible, look for him to be back under centre at TD Place in Week 9, as the Als more than solidified him as their starter with the high profile trade that brought him to MTL.

3. 20% off all adidas tees and tanks

Stock up on for the summer and score 20% off all adidas tees and tanks at TD Place Team Shop and retail locations around the stadium on game day!

4. 60’s style TV dinner

With the return of the 1968 and 1969 Grey Cup champion Rough Riders, TD Place’s food and beverage partner, Levy, is cooking up some deliciously retro game day grub.

Now this is not your average 1960s TV dinner, prepared fresh in-stadium and available for only $10, satisfy your hunger with meatloaf and gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, buttered peas, and a caramel cake for dessert. Get yours at Little Italy (north main and north upper concourse) and Glebe Grill (south main and south upper concourse).

Looking for something more contemporary? The featured burger on August 11 will be the Texas Tornado. Based on an all-beef burger, the Texas Tornado is topped with crispy jalapeños, black bean and corn salsa, and queso cheese sauce. Look for it in the Subaru Log Cabin, Otto’s Club, and the Gate 1 BBQs.

5. Three free ways to get here

Get to the game with ease and take advantage of free transportation options from across Ottawa-Gatineau. Transit with OC Transpo and STO starts at 4:30PM, our park n’ shuttle service starts at 5:30PM from Canada Post (Heron/Riverside) and City Hall. We also offer a free bike n’ park valet service at the basketball courts just east of Aberdeen Pavilion at Lansdowne. For more info on all transportation options, please click here.
