The Ottawa REDBLACKS fell to 2-0 on the season, Thursday night, dropping their home opener by a final score of 26-15.
Brandin Dandridge ran an electric 79-yard punt return to the endzone for Ottawa’s first touchdown of the season, and Justin Hardy hauled in Tyrie Adams’ pass on the two-point conversion attempt, late in the second quarter. Lewis Ward kicked a pair of field goals, and Richie Leone added a rouge.
Despite a hot start on offence, the REDBLACKS found themselves in an 8-1 hole, and Calgary added a touchdown in the second quarter, before Dandridge’s theatrics. On the defensive side of the ball, Alonzo Addae forced a fumble that was recovered by Adam Auclair, who also hauled in his first career interception during the contest.
Ottawa will look to get in the win column after their Week 3 bye, hosting the Edmonton Elks on June 30.
