Labatt halts beer production to produce much needed hand sanitizer

Labatt Breweries of Canada shifted production from beer to hand sanitizer at some of its factories in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They initially produced 50,000 bottles of hand sanitizer, at five locations across the country, that were donated to Food Banks Canada, frontline workers and restaurants and bars that are remaining open.

 

Purolator dispatch half a million masks to health care workers

Getting critical supplies to the healthcare sector is always a priority, but the need is more critical now than ever. Purolator continues to deliver to a majority of Canada’s healthcare facilities & pharmacies the next day and played a major role in the transport and dispatch of half a million PPE masks.

 

Terlin pivots production to keep essential services operational for the public

#TeamTerlin was called on by some of their retail partners on the frontlines to help protect their employees and customers. They have quickly pivoted to repurpose their millwork production facility to produce plexiglass cashier shields. Their incredible millwork staff—and CNC machine—are working around the clock to maximize production and get protective shields out to stores across the province. Learn more here.

TD Launches The TD Community Resilience Initiative

TD has a long-standing commitment to supporting its customers, colleagues and communities. The spread of COVID-19 is creating additional burden on our communities, including some of the most vulnerable members of society. In response, TD has launched the TD Community Resilience Initiative as part of the TD Ready Commitment, the Bank’s corporate citizenship platform. TD will allocate $25 million (CAD) to help strengthen community resilience today and into the future. This comprehensive program includes funding, employee engagement and on-going collaboration with organizations and community groups that operate locally, regionally and nationally in Canada and the United States across TD’s operating footprint.

PepsiCo brands come together to provide essentials during COVID-19

During this time, PepsiCo Canada has donated an incremental 500,000 servings of Quaker, Gatorade, Aquafina and Frito Lay products valued at $350,000 for distribution to COVID-19 affected people across the country through Food Banks Canada.  As part of PepsiCo’s global COVID relief efforts, The PepsiCo Foundation is also donating $140,000 CAD to Food Banks Canada’s COVID fund to support nutrition relief across 10 Canadian provinces. To provide healthy food for kids who don’t currently have access to school meals due to COVID-related closures, The PepsiCo Foundation is donating $70,000 CAD to Food 4 Kids, a non-profit with expertise in providing vital nutrition for at-risk, low-income or disadvantaged children with limited or no food during weekends or extended school breaks.

In addition, PepsiCo’s global COVID relief effort is investing $45 million globally to bring food and other vital resources to the most affected communities. As part of this effort, we are providing funding for protective gear for healthcare workers, testing and screening services, and are in the process of distributing more than 50 million nutritious meals to at-risk populations.

To keep Canada’s most vulnerable citizens connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, TELUS is giving over 10,000 free mobile devices and $0 rate plans, valued at more than $5 million, to hundreds of organizations across the country. These connections are giving hospitalized COVID-19 patients the ability to virtually connect with loved ones, while also enabling isolated seniors, and low-income, homeless, and at-risk individuals with a much needed lifeline to families, health practitioners and vital social support services during this complex time. Gabriel Pizza provides thouands with hot meals

Over the past several weeks, Gabriel Pizza and its network of franchisees have championed numerous non-profit organizations, healthcare workers, first-responders, and establishments committed to seniors’ wellness, with several thousands of hot meals. Our pledge is to surpass 5,000 meals before the end of this month.  As well, the fundraising for Ollie’s Pizza continues with a portion of each sale being donated to Candlelighters, a local charity that enriches the lives of children, and their families, coping with childhood cancer.
