Top 3 REDBLACKS vs Esks storylines

Maas’ return
Saturday won’t be the first time the REDBLACKS have squared off against former offensive coordinator Jason Maas, now head coach of the Eskimos. The first time was Ottawa’s season opener in what would be an overtime victory for the visiting REDBLACKS, but this will be the first time Maas will be back in Ottawa since the move.

Though Maas was only with the REDBLACKS for one season, it just so happened to be the year the team went from a basement-dwelling expansion team to the East Division champions.

YAC!
REDBLACKS receivers have shown an impressive ability to break tackles this season, none more so that Chris Williams, who leads the CFL with 324 yards after the catch. But Williams isn’t on his own as teammates Brad Sinopoli and Greg Ellingson have also shown an impressive knack for continuing to move the ball with opposing players hanging off of them. Those extra yards on plays can mean the difference between a first down or turnover, a touchdown or a field goal and a win or loss.

Hungry Hank
After an admittedly sub-par performance in his return from injury last weekend against Toronto, Henry Burris has earned rave reviews in practice this week and appears poised to get himself and his team back on track against Edmonton.

This game will mark Burris’ 215th regular season CFL contest, a career that has seen him complete 4,152 passes out of 6,580 attempts for 56,018 yards and 330 touchdowns. The reigning CFL Most Outstanding Player is confident he’ll be back to the player that led this team to the Grey Cup game in 2015.
