Munoz: The Heart of the REDBLACKS Defence

The heart of the REDBLACKS defence is back for another year with the REDBLACKS. Set to become a free agent on February 9, Munoz recently agreed to a contract extension with the team that will see him stay in the Capital through the 2017 season.

Yesterday, Munoz expressed his gratitude via Skype, “I just want to say thank you to the whole REDBLACKS organization for having me.”

In his first full season with the club, Damaso Munoz recorded a team-leading 74 tackles, four sacks, three forced fumbles, and a pick-six against the Toronto Argonauts. Munoz is excited to build off a successful 2015 campaign that saw the REDBLACKS record a 12-6 regular season record, an Eastern Division title, and a Grey Cup appearance in Winnipeg.
“There’s a lot of things that motivate me. I like what was built there. Last year we had a great season. Just looking forward to 2016 and the guys Marcel is bringing in is a lot to look forward to.”

The Miami, Florida native recorded an impressive 10 tackles in the team’s Eastern Final victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats that he calls “a great historical moment for the whole community and whole organization.”
