OTTAWA – The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League have signed two more players selected during the 2014 CFL Draft: defensive lineman Nigel Romick and offensive lineman Hugo Desmarais.

Romick is a 6-foot-4, 243-pound defensive lineman from Thunder Bay who starred at Saint Mary’s University for the Huskies. Last season, Romick had 27.5 tackles, six sacks and one forced fumble. The six sacks ranked third in the CIS. He was taken in the third round (23rd overall) by the REDBLACKS in the draft which was held on May 13.

Desmarais, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive lineman from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, QC, played collegiate football for the Laval Rouge et Or and was selected by the REDBLACKS in the fifth round (37th overall).

Players will begin arriving in Ottawa this week, with rookie camp opening on Wednesday afternoon, May 28 at Keith Harris Stadium on the campus of Carleton University.
