Shawn Burke was named the second General Manager in Ottawa REDBLACKS history on December 19, 2021.

The move to Ottawa followed 15 years working in administration and then football operations with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The Guelph, Ont. native first joined the Tiger-Cats in 2007 as Director of Community Relations, a position he held for three years. He would serve as Hamilton’s Director of Communications for two years during the same period, before making the move to Football Operations in 2011 as Director of Football Operations.

A promotion followed for Burke in 2016 as he was promoted to Assistant General Manager. His final position with the Ti-Cats saw Burke serve as the team’s Senior Director of Player Personnel and Co-Manager of Football Operations. In those two seasons, the Tiger-Cats put up a 23-9 record and appeared in two Grey Cup games in consecutive seasons.

A graduate of the Sports Administration program at Durham College, Burke now lives in Ottawa with his wife and their two children.
