Whether a young person dreams of becoming a professional football player, a teacher, or a musician, whether they strive to earn enough money for a new bike, or simply get an A on their next math test, learning a proper goal-setting process and how to put it into action is an invaluable skill that will help them reach their goals throughout life.

REDBLACKS players, along with our mascot BIG JOE, will be joined by a youth motivational speaker with an important message targeted at elementary school students (specifically grades 3-8). The REDBLACKS GOALS! School Programs, available at NO COST, will inspire and teach your students how to set goals, work hard, and in the end, achieve them. It is presented in a fun and engaging way that your students will easily comprehend.

Every student has goals, be it to get an ‘A’ on the next math test, to earn enough money for a new bike, or to put a score on a touchdown – these are all goals.

With the help of our partners at TELUS, the Ottawa REDBLACKS staff and players will visit your school to discuss the importance of setting goals and never giving up. Our players will provide concrete examples of challenges they faced as on their life path towards their goal of becoming elite football players.

We are taking reservations for this current school year. Due to player availability limitations, we have a limited number of schools visits and dates available. Requests are the first-come-first-serve basis.

I feel indebted to you for the time that you and your team took in supporting Huntley Centennial today.  You are an amazing speaker, one that captivated our students (and staff) for 90 minutes with a message of goal setting, perseverance and grit.  Indeed qualities that we are all embedding in our school community.

Both Connor Williams and Ettore “ET” Lattanzio shared the story of their journeys and proof that, with a never give up attitude, it can be done. They both had a huge positive influence on our student body as did Big Joe with his ever present self and having the Grey Cup land in Carp made for a very special day.

Huntley is a better place today for the time and the message you and your team shared.  I heard students speak of your Goals Program the entire rest of the day. Nothing could be more evident of the impact you had in our school.

Here is to back to back Grey Cups!

Many thanks,

I wanted to thank Mark and his team for an amazing assembly yesterday! Many of the teachers on staff have commented how interactive and fun the presentation was. They were impressed with how the students remained engaged the entire time and that is because of the presenter.

The kids cannot stop talking about how cool it was to meet a couple of the Ottawa REDBLACKS players and have Big Joe in attendance. We are hearing them use many of the goal-setting strategies discussed and they are even encouraging others to do the same.

The towels signed team photos and discount cards were an added bonus! I would highly recommend this program to other schools and colleagues.

Thank you again.

Thanks again for the amazing presentation!  Probably the best our students and staff have ever seen! Hope to do this again in the future!
