Ayinde AKA ‘Ace’  was signed as a free agent by the Lions in April 2024.

Highlights:

2024: Ace earned a spot on the active roster out of training camp and became a starter at linebacker following injuries to key veterans. In 17 regular season games, Ace tallied 66 total tackles (60 defence, six special teams), two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one sack and a fumble recovery while earning the team nomination for CFL Most Outstanding Rookie. Made his playoff debut in the Western Semi-Final inSaskatchewan, recording three tackles and a forced fumble.

2023: Signed with the Carolina Panthers as a non-drafted free agent and attended training camp with the team.

College:

2021-22: Ayinde transferred to Georgia Tech for his final two seasons and appeared in 23 games while recording 208 total tackles (100 solo, 108 assisted), four forced fumbles and three pass breakups. He would earn Second-Team All-ACC honours in his senior season.

2017-20: Suited up in 25 games at Maryland after sitting out 2017 a redshirt freshman. The defensive playmaker would rack up 111 total tackles (53 solo, 58 assisted), six forced fumbles, three pass breakups and a pair of interceptions in his time with the Terrapins.
