Patrick Bourgon – Linebackers Coach

A veteran member of the REDBLACKS coaching staff, Bourgon returns for another season with the REDBLACKS as Linebackers Coach in 2023, a position he previously held from 2020-2022.

Bourgon, who initially joined the expansion REDBLACKS as a Football Operations Assistant ahead of the club’s inaugural 2014 season, coached the club’s defensive backs in 2022. Bourgon has risen through the staff ranks of the REDBLACKS since then, briefly leaving the club in 2015 to serve as Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for the Diables Rouges de Villepinte in France.

Bourgon would return to the REDBLACKS as Offensive Assistant in 2016, in time for the team’s Grey Cup championship run, before moving to the other side of the ball as Defensive Assistant in 2018. Bourgon was named Assistant Defensive Backs/Special Teams Coach in January 2020 before being promoted to Linebackers Coach.

Bourgon graduated from McGill in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management, and from the University of Ottawa with a bachelor’s degree in Education.
