What is your dance/cheer background and experience?

I did competitive rhythmic gymnastics growing up. That passion then lead me to start dancing. I’ve danced all studio styles including ballet, jazz, rap, hip hop and lyrical. I also took up cheerleading for a year with Ultimate Cheer Ottawa.

Why did you audition for the REDBLACKS Cheerleading & Dance Team?

2 years ago when I auditioned for the Redblacks dance team I wasn’t sure what to expect. All I knew was that I had a love for performing and an even bigger love for dance. I can say now that auditioning for the team was the best decision I could have made. From being part of the team these past two years I have grown not only as a performer and dancer, but also individually as a person. I have met so many wonderful and talented people and made life long friends on this team. I will forever cherish the memories I’ve been blessed with and can’t wait to make many more! Once I got a taste of being a part of this wonderful team, there was no going back. That is the main reason I keep coming back to audition.

What advice would you give someone who dreams of becoming a cheerleader?

Everyone has an inner cheerleader in them! Dont let anyone stop you from following your passion whether it is dance, cheerleading or another any other goal. Also, don’t let auditions intimidate you! In the end if you don’t get chosen, it’s an excuse to come back bigger and stronger. If you want it bad enough, you’ll make it happen!

If you could say one thing to #RNation, what would you say?

THANKYOU RNation!!! We truly have the best fans in the CFL and we would not be where we are without you. You’re support over the past 4 seasons has been humbling and overwhelming. I can’t wait to see all of you on and off the field!
