The Montreal Alouettes defeated the Ottawa REDBLACKS 30-10 on Thanksgiving day at Percival Molson Stadium.
William Stanback led the way for the Ottawa offence, posting 11 carries for 73 yards and a score, while adding four receptions for 41 yards. Kalil Pimpleton contributed seven receptions for 47 yards, including an electrifying 10 yard gain where he reversed field, running all the way back against the grain to turn a three yard gain into a hard-earned new set of downs for the offence.
On the defensive end, defensive back Deandre Lamont led the way with five tackles, linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox added four more and defensive back Mark Milton posted two tackles and a pass knockdown in his return to the lineup after missing last week due to personal reasons.
As for the Alouettes, Davis Alexander completed 23/30 passes for 240 yards including a 47-yard touchdown pass to Austin Mack, who finished the game with five receptions for 87 yards. Safety Marc-Antoine Dequoy scored the game’s first major after recovering his own blocked punt for a 20-yard touchdown return. Defensively, Darnell Sankey led all tacklers with eight while Geoffrey Cantin-Arku, Najee Murray, Dequoy and Tyrice Beverette each added a quarterback sack.
REDBLAKCS rookie field corner Cam Lockridge impressed in his CFL debut, posting five defensive tackles, including two tackles for loss. The former Fresno State defensive back joined RNation back in August and impressed the coaching staff in his short time in the nation’s capital.
Running back Devonte Dedmon was a late scratch from the lineup and was replaced on the roster by rookie offensive lineman DJ Jones, who was forced into action following an injury to right tackle Drew Desjarlais early in the contest.
The REDBLACKS won’t have to wait long to get their revenge as they welcome Montreal to TD Place for the final home game of the season and second half of the home-and-home series with the Alouettes.
