Redblacks Hunt For Win Vs Lions

The Ottawa REDBLACKS are back on the road, after a two-game home stand, and it kicks off tonight, from Canada’s west coast.

Live from BC Place at 10:30 pm ET, the REDBLACKS are taking on the BC Lions, with every game becoming more critical as the season hits its final stretch.

Ottawa is looking to get back on track, following a 45-15 loss to the Toronto Argonauts, last week. Nick Arbuckle snuck the lone Ottawa touchdown in, to go with three field goals by Lewis Ward.

The Lions, meanwhile, are coming off of a 25-11 home defeat to the Calgary Stampeders. Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 151 yards, while Antonio Pipkin threw a touchdown pass to Dominique Rhymes.

It’s a homecoming of sorts for a couple of the REDBLACKS, with former Lions Shaq Johnson, and Hunter Steward returning to BC for the first time since signing on with Ottawa.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS:

Shaq Johnson, receiver, on what it will take to find a win on the road: “We’ve got to have a short memory on a short week. It’s going to take a complete effort from all three phases of the game; offence, defence, and special teams. We have to win our one-on-one’s and execute at an efficient level this week, and going forward.”

Nick Arbuckle, quarterback, on the team’s mindset as the season winds down: “The mindset going forward for the rest of the season is we still have everything in front of us that we want as long as you take care of business. We can’t worry about the uncontrollables. All we can worry about is trying to get two points this week. For us, it’s kind of like playoff football. There has to be a sense of urgency, preparation and focus because we know if we want to play a sixth game this year, we can’t afford to lose any more games.”
