Rey Jimena is an everyday hero. The 62 year-old has been working at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital since 1995, first as a cleaner and now as a transport worker … one of the porters that take patients to the OR for surgeries or elsewhere in the hospital for X-Rays, exams and other treatments. He doesn’t get the accolades we give to doctors, nurses and paramedics, but without Rey and the hundreds of others who keep our hospitals running smoothly, we’d be in big trouble.
