Davis named Shaw CFL Top Performer for Week 2

In his fourth career start, Ottawa REDBLACKS quarterback Dominique Davis set a number of personal bests en route to Ottawa defeating Saskatchewan 44-41 at TD Place.

Davis completed 30 of 39 passes (76.9%) for 354 yards and three touchdown passes while adding 43 yards on the ground.

The East Carolina alum found Dominique Rhymes late in the first quarter from 20-yards out which led to the REDBLACKS gaining the lead following a two-point covert, 8-7.

In the second quarter, Davis went play-action and found Jean-Christophe Beaulieu in the endzone for a 23-yard major after Ottawa forced a turnover on special teams while deep in Riders territory.

On the next possession, the REDBLACKS got a 42-yard punt return from Ryan Lankford which allowed Davis to spot Seth Coate down the sidelines for a 43-yard gain before finishing the drive with an 7-yard TD to RJ Harris.

In the game, Davis connected with seven different receivers. Through two games, the Lakeland, Fla., native has led the REDBLACKS to a 2-0 record while passing for 630 yards.

Davis and the REDBLACKS are currently enjoying a Week 3 bye, but will be taking the field once again at TD Place on Friday, July 5th, when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Click here to get your tickets.
