5 things to know about Chris Ackie

Literally one minute from the 3:59 p.m. trade deadline REDBLACKS GM Marcel Desjardins added to his group of talented Canadians by acquiring linebacker Chris Ackie from the Montreal Alouettes. Here are five things to know about the newest citizen of RNation:

1. Ackie calls Cambridge, ON home and graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in nearby Waterloo.

2. Fifth in the CFL, Ackie’s 81 defensive tackles are an astronomical leap from his prior season-high of 17.

3. Ackie also has a sack, a touchdown, a forced fumble, and two interceptions this season.

4. The Alouettes selected Ackie in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2015 CFL Draft.

5. Ackie recorded a game-high nine tackles versus the REDBLACKS in Week 4.
