The Ottawa REDBLACKS will host the Montreal Alouettes at TD Place on Saturday, August 11 at 8:00 p.m. Ottawa won the East Division rivals’ first meeting of the season in early July 28-18 in Montreal.
The REDBLACKS (4-3, 1st in East Division) are looking to rebound from a heart-wrenching 42-41 loss at the hands of the Toronto Argonauts last week. The Argos scored the game-winning touchdown with one second left on the clock. Ottawa will be looking to increase their lead atop the East Division against the struggling Alouettes.
Montreal (1-6, last in East) haven’t been able to get out of first gear this season and were beaten by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 50-11 last Friday.
STORYLINES
Powell looking for more – William Powell has only earned 50 or more yards on the ground once in the last four games. Expect the seasoned running back to be hungry against the Als, a team he torched for 138 rushing yards in week four.
Grey Cup teams honoured – The REDBLACKS will be honouring members of the 1968 and 1969 Ottawa Rough Riders Grey Cup teams. 23 alumni will be on hand to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the ’68 team’s victory.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The REDBLACKS will look to take advantage of a weak Montreal offensive line, which has allowed a league-high 25 sacks, including three to the REDBLACKS in week four.
Montreal’s defence has also been shaky at times his season and will be without the services of veteran rush-end John Bowman, who is expected to miss over a month with a biceps injury.
