RADIO

TSN 1200: Returning for a third straight season, the broadcast tandem of AJ Jakubec and Jeff Avery will have the call of every REDBLACKS game. Jakubec, a 19-year broadcasting veteran, has called nine different sports and is also the voice of the NASL’s Ottawa Fury FC and the OHL’s Ottawa 67’s. His call of “The Catch 2.0” from last year’s East Final will forever be etched in Ottawa’s rich football history. Speaking of Ottawa’s rich football history – Avery’s voice is a welcomed sound to Ottawa CFL fans. A former receiver with the Rough Riders for seven seasons from the mid ‘70s and into the early ‘80s, Avery has been a colour commentator with the Rough Riders, Renegades and now the REDBLACKS. The knowledge and insights from this Ottawa native and CFL alumnus help bring fans to another level inside the game. Another CFL alumnus and former Ottawa Rough Rider has also joined the broadcast team with Ken Evraire slotting in as the sideline reporter to share his thoughts from field level at all home games.

Stay up to date with all things REDBLACKS every Thursday on TSN 1200 with the REDBLACKS Radio Show. Host Lee Versage chats with players, coaches and management and provides analysis of results and previews upcoming games.
