After a jaw-dropping touchdown run following a missed field goal, wide receiver Jamill Smith has been named one of the CFL’s best from Week 14, the Canadian Football League announced on Tuesday.

Smith caught the ball near his own end zone after a long field goal attempt into the wind by the Toronto Argonauts came up short. Several great blocks and 109 yards later, Smith was in the end zone and celebrating in front of the sold out crowd at TD Place. It was a key play in Ottawa’s 29-12 win.

With Toronto facing third-and-25 in in the second quarter, Toronto kicker Lirim Hajrullahu’s attempt from 53 yards out came up short. Smith caught the failed three-point attempt and raced up field, well out of reach of the nearest Argos. It was the first missed field goal returned for a touchdown in REDBLACKS history.
