Game Summary
The Ottawa REDBLACKS fell 43-19 to the visiting Montreal Alouettes in front of an energized, sellout crowd of more than 24,900 fans – a regular season record at TD Place.

Despite throwing for more than 322 yards and picking out receivers Ernest Jackson and Chris Williams for touchdown passes, QB Henry Burris and the rest of the team struggled to keep up with an on-fire Montreal Alouettes side.

The home-team ran into a very hot quarterback in Kevin Glenn, who completed 25 of 30 passes for a total of 382 yards and five touchdown passes. Receivers Duron Carter and Nikolas Lewis combined for 13 receptions, 228 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while teammates BJ Cunningham, Samuel Giguere and Brandon Rutley chipped in with one touchdown each.

Ottawa will have less than a week to ready themselves for their Week 10 clash against the BC Lions on Thursday, August 25.

 First Half Summary
At the end of the first quarter, the score was 10-3 for the visitors. After trading field goals early in the first quarter, Montreal was able to score a touchdown through Nik Lewis following an impressive 70yard punt return from Stefan Logan that got the team into a good scoring position.

Ottawa struck first in the second quarter with QB Burris finding wide-receiver Chris Williams with a long 58yard touchdown pass. Ottawa kicker Chris Milo was unable to convert the field goal, leaving the home team 1 point behind the visitors. Montreal answered with two touchdowns – one a long 67yard touchdown pass from QB Kevin Glenn to receiver Duron Carter.

The visiting team looked set to head into the break leading 23-9 but the home team produced a moment of magic with the last play of the second half. Burris launched a 61 yard pass that dropped from the sky and into a sea of players. The ball skipped out of the grasp of Greg Ellingson and directly into the hands of teammate Ernest Jackson for the very late, second half touchdown. The score heading into the break was 23-16.

Second Half Summary
The REDBLACKS were unable to prevent Montreal for scoring their fourth touchdown of the game early in the second half when QB Kevin Glenn handed off to Cunningham, who ran the ball into the endzone for the 12yard score. Kicker Chris Milo hit a late third quarter field goal to send the REDLACKS into the fourth quarter trailing the visitors 30-19.

The visitors shutout the home team in the fourth quarter and put up another 14 points through TD receptions from Brandon Rutley and Duron Carter as Montreal finished out the game with a 43-19 win.
