5 things to do at Lansdowne on game day

The Ottawa REDBLACKS summer homestand continues Friday night as they host the Montreal Alouettes at TD Place. A sellout crowd will be on hand to cheer Henry Burris and company as the REDBLACKS look to maintain their hold on top spot in the CFL’s East Division but, as always, there is plenty more to do in and around the stadium on game day. Here are a few options:

Ride the bull!
With Professional Bull Riding bringing its show to TD Place on Saturday, fans coming out to the REDBLACKS game the night before can get a taste of rodeo life. Head over to Aberdeen Square and ride a mechanical bull, which will be setup pre-game. It’s free to go for a ride and you could even win tickets to the show the following day. Hop on!

Battle for first
Just six games into the 2016 CFL season and it’s already pretty clear it’s going to be a battle to claim top spot in the East Division. Ottawa is up to the challenge and continues to fight the Toronto Argonauts for top spot, which would earn the winning a team a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The Argos lost during Ottawa’s bye week, meaning a REDBLACKS win against Montreal will keep them on top.

Check out the Log Cabin!
The Subaru Log Cabin has already become a popular attraction for football fans looking to take in the game from a different perspective. Located behind the west end zone, the special section features its own bar and exclusive platform for watching the REDBLACKS in action. Check out the REDBLACKS on Facebook to learn how to get your ticket to the Subaru Log Cabin!

Patio livin’
If you’re planning to come to the game early or stay late, you won’t go hungry … or thirsty. With great summer weather on tap, head over to one of Lansdowne’s many restaurant and bar options, several of which boat impressive patio setups. The newest patio offering belongs to Craft, while favourites like LOCAL, JOEY, Milestones, Crust and Crate and Jack Astor’s also offer great outdoor dining options.

adidas swag
If you haven’t checked out the new merchandise shop – located next to the box office – and picked up your new REDBLACKS gear, now’s the time to do it. In addition to the new Adidas jerseys released this season, the company has put out a full line of REDBLACKS apparel that is proving to be very popular. Pop on over and grab a shirt or jersey and show off your RED and BLACK on Saturday.
